Frequently asked questions
What product is used?
We use Duradek™. Duradek™ is the original brand of waterproof vinyl deck membranes, introduced in 1974. The leader in the vinyl decking industry, the brand name ‘Duradek’ is often used synonymously for the term ‘vinyl decking’ or ‘pvc membrane’. Duradek is manufactured in North America and is the most tested and performance proven sheet vinyl on the market with over 150 million square feet installed
How long will my deck last?
Can I put deicer on my deck?
Yes. Rock Salt, Kitty Litter and various other snow-melting chemicals can be used on your Duradek surface. We do caution, however, that you clean the surface thoroughly with soap and water and flush clear prior to letting the heat of the spring sun 'bake' any chemical into the surface.
What's the best way to clean my deck?
It is best to clean your Duradek surface at least 4 times a year to maintain its appearance. You can use warm water with a mild soap and scrub it with a soft bristle brush. For more difficult stains you can dilute some household cleaner. Be sure not to let any chemicals sit on the vinyl surface and to rinse well with fresh water.
What is the warranty?
Duradek Ultra comes with a 15-year waterproofing warranty that has 3 levels of protection - Waterproofing, Appearance, and Workmanship.
What impact does snowfall have? Do you need to shovel it?
These roofdecks are built to withstand heavy snow loads. And they do a great job draining water from the roof once the snow starts to melt. The heat of the home will also help speed up that melting process.
